Most of this information is stuff all of you here know. The general consensus there was I should keep the car. So same as this sight. Hopefully it all works out. By the way if you have never been on barnfinds.com it is a great sight and you should totally check it out.

Any progress on that awesome Lincoln? And is it really the biggest unibody car? My Chrysler Newport's unibody and it's rather large... It's about 19.5 feet long or something.

If this kid were closer I'd help him get it going for free. What an interesting vehicle.

Psst: "this kid" = the OP. Hell, I've basically offered him what I can, and I'm nowhere even close to him. So unique, it is.

Oops, sorry Jarod. Like I said, I'd come over if you were closer. My son and I love to save dying vehicles. It can be fun. This car has an interesting history, and you certainly don't see them very often.

Goddammit Jarod. Oppo got your back on keeping it. Law school might be in the way, but wouldnt it be nice if after you graduate and get a real job when you can just pour some of that hard earned cake into it and keep the legacy alive. If you EVER actually entertain a $500 offer I will send you the damn money for it

You are far too kind 505. This is just something I need to do by myself. I do not need monetary help. Your knowledge on car restoration that you have already given me is worth more than that anyway.

Other than diesel to try and free up the damn 430 nothing of note.
If I am correct the Newport of your vintage was 224.7in which would make it 18.5ft not 19.5ft. I very likely could be wrong. The Capri is 229in or 19ft. Here is a list I made a few weeks ago I researched of the top 100 longest cars:
http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/top-100-longes…
When the Capri was created it was the longest unibody ever and very nearly the longest post war car ever. In fact in some states it was required to add additional yellow lights for the safety of other motorist because some legislators considered the car a danger to operate for the regular citizen.

And the advice you have given me has been incredibly helpful. Helped me more than any forum or site so fair. Thanks for that.

Yeah I love the history behind it. (Although no one liked my GG, long story.) I would love to save a piece of history. Our culture is so dispensable that any chance to preserve the past is worth taking.

I stand corrected. Great list! The yellow light bit is hilarious.

Isn't it though? And I might be wrong on your cars length. I believe it shared the platform with the Imperial of the era and that was 19.5ft.

Hard to find a parking spot to fit them in!
